Vermouth isn’t just a captivating craft spirit, it’s a culture. Whether it’s home or professional craft bartenders seeking elevated ingredients for Martinis, Manhattans, Negronis, and other cocktails, or the consumption of vermouth on its own, Italian apertivo culture today is in full bloom.

Our selections from Oscar.697 qualify as “Vermouth Storico di Torino” under current IGP EU regulations, as they are produced in Calamandrana, a tiny village in the Asti province of Piedmont, where many famous Turin vermouths originated. Nevertheless, these products do not carry the IGP designation, in large part because Oscar.697 takes some liberties with tradition in search of new sensations!

Sustainability is also a priority here. Bottles are made from 100% recycled glass and weigh just under one pound, in an effort to reduce the brand’s carbon footprint in shipping. Cap stickers and carton boxes are also from 100% FSC Certified recycled material, and only water-based paints are used for their screen-printed labels. Screw caps are from 100% recycled aluminum.

LIQUORS

Vermouth Bianco

A modern riff on traditional sweet vermouth that meets the requirements for Vermouth Storico di Torino. Dry botanical ingredients are crushed and macerated in grain neutral spirit for approximately three weeks. The botanical infusion is then blended with wine (Trebbiano di Romagna) and natural flavors and rested for two weeks in tank. Residual sugar is 140 grams/liter, the minimum allowed under IGP Vermouth di Torino regulations. Essential ingredients include elderflower; bergamot; yarrow; black pepper. ABV 16%

Vermouth Rosso

A modern riff on traditional sweet red vermouth that meets the requirements for Vermouth Storico di Torino. Dry botanical ingredients are crushed and macerated in grain neutral spirit for approximately three weeks. The botanical infusion is then blended with wine (Trebbiano di Romagna) and natural flavors and rested for two weeks. Residual sugar is 140 grams/liter, the minimum allowed under IGP Vermouth di Torino regulations. Essential ingredients include wormwood, licorice, rhubarb. ABV 16%
