Summer Is The Time for Excellent Rosato

Our partners in Italy, Murgo in Sicily and Rocca di Montegrossi in Tuscany, craft some of the more flavorful, vibrant rosato wines on the market today. The 2020 vintage is exceptional, and the press from lauded publication Vinous proves it!

2020 Rocca di Montegrossi Toscana Rosato
The 2020 Rosato Toscana is a vibrant pink color, with a display of sweet melon and spring flowers offset by a twang of zesty citrus and flint. It’s silky-smooth, balancing a pleasant inner sweetness with brisk acids as notes of young strawberry and cherry cascade across the palate. This tapers off with admirable length, but it’s also completely refreshing, as red fruits slowly fade under an air of rosy florals. Rocca di Montegrossi really nailed it with this varietal Sangiovese Rosato. Well done. – Eric Guido, Vinous

 

2020 Murgo Etna Rosato
The 2020 Etna Rosato, a 100% Nerello Mascalese, shows unexpected depths, as ripe strawberry and melon are complemented by a mix of crushed stone and hints of savory spice. This is silky in feel yet energized by vibrant acidity, mineral-tinged orchard fruits cascading across the palate. There’s an attractive sweet-and-sour interplay that lingers here as this finishes long and floral. Very, very nice. – Eric Guido, Vinous
